1. Purpose & Objectives "Increase the capacity in Ontario to conduct research on problem gambling." - from the Centre's mandate Announcing the G. Ron Frisch Doctoral Studentship in Clinical Psychology This award will be granted to an outstanding Ontario student who plans to complete studies and dissertation combining clinical psychology and problem gambling research. It will provide a $20,000 studentship and $5,000 expenses for each of three years of study, for a total of $75,000 making it one of the most prestigious awards in Canada. The purpose of the Studentship Program is to develop the capacity in Ontario to conduct problem gambling research. The Centre provides multi-year financial support to students who undertake problem gambling research as part of their graduate studies programs and show promise for a career in problem gambling research. Upon completion of a Doctoral degree, the Centre will assist recipients in applying for Level I and II research awards. 2. Value & Duration•Masters program - $17,500 per year for up to 2 years•Doctoral program - $20,000 per year for up to three years 4. EligibilityApplicants must be registered full time in a Masters or Doctoral program at a recognized Canadian university. Consideration will be given to students awaiting acceptance. Preference will be given to Ontario residents studying at Ontario universities, in order to increase the capacity in the province to conduct problem gambling research. 5.
