Level I Research Funding Level I Funding is designed to: - Increase the capacity of researchers to compete successfully for research awards and other funding;
- Remove barriers that impede involvement in gambling research;
- Promote the development of quality research proposals;
- Encourage non-traditional researchers to enter the problem gambling field; and
- Assist in the development of collaborative partnerships.
Examples of tasks that may be undertaken as part of the Level I Research include: pilot projects, annotated literature reviews, the development or testing of instruments or questionnaires, and the administration of a survey. Level II Research Funding Level II funding can be used for: - A stand-alone research project or pilot project;
- Conducting preliminary research in preparation for a Level III research project, such as instrument development and testing; and
- Research tasks subsequent to a full research project, such as follow-up testing, or secondary data analysis.
Level III Research Funding The purpose of the Level III award is to: - Enhance understanding of problem gambling; and
- Strengthen treatment and prevention practice through research.
Normally, the Centre solicits proposals for research awards twice annually - in the Spring and Fall. All solicitations will be posted on our website. We will also notify our subscribers of all solicitations. There are two stages in the application process: - Stage 1 - Eligible applicants must submit a Letter of Intent;
- Stage 2 - Applicants whose letters of intent have been approved by the selection committee will be invited to submit a detailed Research Plan.
Level IV Research Funding The Level IV Award provides support for research projects for up to three years. Applications for Level IV follow the same schedule and are subject to the same review process as Level III. |
